An unforgettable experience at High Falls Gorge in Lake Placid! My girlfriend and I visited about a month ago during our winter vacation, and it was nothing short of magical. The snow-covered trails and the snowflakes falling around us created a truly unforgettable atmosphere. The waterfalls, partially frozen, were absolutely stunning — with ice formations hanging from the rocks. It felt like a winter wonderland, and the peaceful, quiet beauty of the place made it even more special. We loved exploring the area, taking in the breathtaking sights, and snapping some beautiful photos. If you're ever in Lake Placid, especially in the winter, don’t miss out on this hidden gem. A perfect combination of nature, tranquility, and winter magic! Highly suggest!

Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I decided not to walk the trails, but the walk by the water was fabulous. Lots of informative signs on nature and the history of the place. The walkways seemed brand new and very well kept. I highly recommend checking it out!

High Falls Gorge is a hidden gem in the Adirondacks and absolutely worth a visit! The walking trails are beautifully maintained, making it accessible for families and casual hikers. The series of waterfalls along the Ausable River are breathtaking — especially after a good rain when the water is roaring. The glass-floor walkways and bridges offer unique views of the gorge and let you get up close to nature without being too rugged. The self-guided trail is informative and scenic, with plenty of photo opportunities. It’s a relatively short walk, but packed with beauty and peaceful energy. The gift shop and café at the entrance are also nice touches for a post-hike break. Great spot for a morning or afternoon outing if you’re in the Lake Placid area!

The waterfalls are breathtaking, and the trails are beautifully maintained with safe walkways, bridges, and railings that make it easy to enjoy the views up close. The short hike is very family-friendly, but at the same time it feels like a real adventure — walking right above the rushing water and through the gorge. Tickets can be purchased online, and when you arrive you simply exchange your online ticket for a pass, which is super convenient. Staff is welcoming and the whole area is clean and well-organized. A perfect spot to enjoy nature, take photos, and relax! I can recommend stopping by if you’re in the Adirondacks!
